SEQUINS

Here's my attempt at sequins. I wore this kind of a necklace for the first time. I was a little apprehensive but I think it looks good!

Diwali-Festival of Lights

It's my favourite time of the year, when the biggest festival that's celebrated in India finally arrives. Diwali or Deepawali signifies the victory of good over evil- the victory of Lord Ram over the evil king -Raavan.  People all over the country celebrate this day by lighting beautiful lamps called -Diyas , that come in numerous shapes and sizes, and by bursting crackers. Diwali  unleashes the child within each one of us.  We make beautiful motifs outside our houses using dry, powdered colors- known as a rangoli.

I made one today- and it took me 4 hours nearly. However I'm quite pleased with the result. This day is mostly spent with family members and close friends!! So here's wishing everyone out there, a Very Happy and Prosperous Diwali!!

Oh and I'm wearing this dress that I my mum made for me , along with some blue oxfords and this stone-laden Forever 21 cuff.

P.S- on scrolling down, you will find many more pictures of Rangolis (the ones that were made by my neighbours.)

My 21st B'day (day party)

So, it was my birthday and what a great day it was. I went for lunch with 3 of my close friends to Mangio. We had some amazing food and the desserts looked great but the chocolate decadence was a let down.

We then went for some bowling at Sparkz where I won ( yippeeee) .

My parents gifted me a new cell phone, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and a black, quilted bag. . My little sister gifted me a packet of vanilla and chocolate marshmallows and she bought an ice cream cake for me tooo.. I even enjoyed some  Chinese food with my family the night before .

Some of my friends , however had their exams so I popped in and met them when their exams got over.

I wore a bow-print cardigan from Vero Moda, over a white tank top from Mango and black Mango jeans with some thong sandals from Vogele and this quilted black bag that my mum gifted me.

So, I make faces at the camera. Who doesn't?!

I won, seee?!!

My 21st Birthday!!

I took my friends clubbing with me to celebrate my 21st b'day and WOW , what a night it was! Amazing foot tapping music, fantastic ambiance and drinks and non-stop dancing for almost 3 hours- how could it not be perfect!

Some of my friends are complete goofballs too!!
You know, those peanuts and chips that are served along with drinks, well my friends decided it would be fun to chuck some at me!! Needless to say, I threw whatever I caught right back at them.

Oh, and how can I forget! We were clicking a few pictures , when suddenly this guy, randomly asked us if he could get a picture with us! I mean , he hardly asked, he just came into the frame and said "picture with me?!!. It was so funny! But he was a sweet guy. He clicked a few pictures for I us later! All in all, it was possibly , the best birthday ever!!

Oh and I wore a silver, one shouldered dress from Rampage with blue Zara pumps!!

Remember, the funny guy I told you about!!

NYC

I don't know why but I've been fixated with New York City of late. I've never been there but I really , really want to go (badly). When I received my copy of the Lonely Planet this month, I was overjoyed. There is a huge article on New York City with the most beautiful and gorgeous pictures, especially of New York in Fall/Winter. I've always loved Gossip Girl, and since it is set in the same city , it trebles my love for the city. The images of Blair and Serena sitting on the steps of the MET, of Chuck waiting for Blair on top of the Empire State Building are stuck in my mind. Plus am sure , everyone must have seen Home Alone (Lost in New York) at some point in their lives. If not that, then surely F.R.I.E.N.D.S- I mean everything about that sitcom oozes New York. And how can one forget , The Devil Wears Prada- truly New York is such an iconic city.
